Red Figured Greek Vase - Blending Modes, Low Poly

Red Figured Greek Vase with the minimum number of vertices (low poly) for quick download and interactive display. Vases display with opaque textures in the first image. The second image displays WebGL Blending Modes. Learn about low poly & WebGL blending.

Low Poly & WebGL Blending

Low polygon models download and initialize faster. That's often important with 3D Web programming. The Greek vase was carefully modeled with the minimum number of vertices for a low poly model. However often low polygon models lack details or smooth shapes. Artists and developers carefully weigh the tradeoff between quality and speed.

Blending Modes

The Greek vase model renders with WebGL blending modes in the second image. Blending modes process unique special effects with algorithms applied to fragments that overlap on the Z axis. The WebGL blend function includes a source and destination parameter. Overlapping colors blend according to the parameters. The WebGL blending modes graphic includes callouts with source and destination parameters. You can see how those parameters affect the appearance of the vase.

3D Graphics

Three dimensional images help viewers visualize real world objects. See all sides, look inside, highlight or label various sections.
